Allison Bown has been
teaching at Yosemite National Park El Portal School for 18 years and has
lived in Yosemite National Park with her husband Randy since 1984.
After graduating from Biola University in 1981, she worked as a
psychiatric nurse in Southern California for several years before moving
to Belgium to teach English at Continental International School.
In 1984 she began working for the Ansel Adams Gallery as director
of their Photography Workshop program.
In 1988, she returned to school at Fresno Pacific University to
receive a multiple subject teaching credential.
Mrs. Bown’s
favorite day of school is “Leprechaun Day” and although her class
hasn’t caught one yet, each year students build elaborate traps in the
belief that they will one day succeed! The book most likely to be in
Mrs. Bown’s hand is an American history book or biography. She
loves ice skating in the winter and hiking around the Eastern Sierras with
Randy and their dog Penny during the summer. |
